Work life balance
We recognise that people are more likely to be motivated in their career if they are also fulfilled individuals.
Juggling the demands of your life outside work and your career ambitions can be difficult. As a way of helping balance the two, we have implemented flexi working hours and are working towards creating an “agile” working environment with remote working and work from home facilities for certain jobs.
Usually the people who want more flexibility are parents, but not always. Whatever your reason, our agile working practises will help you balance your unique role requirements with personal circumstances such as time spent on commuting and we’ll do everything we can to find a solution that suits you at the same time as meeting the requirements of the company.
Physical wellbeing is a priority at Unilever Sri Lanka and to that extent our employees take part in a wide range of sports activities such as cricket, badminton, hockey, swimming and netball. We also offer a corporate gym membership.
We have an onsite medical centre with a resident doctor and an ambulance on call 24 hours. We also have a visiting dentist, eye specialist and ayurveda physician. We also conduct regular health checkups for our employees in partnership with the best hospitals in Colombo.
Taking that extra step to ensure a healthy lifestyle for our employees, upon request the canteen offers a special vitality menu that provides a balanced nutritional diet.
On the other hand we focus on fitness of heart, mind and spirit by creating a vitalising work experience and environment for our people. This helps them feel energised and able to perform to the very best of their ability.
